Right in the heart of Flachau. The Dorfalm and the Dorfladen are the heart of Schiefergut Family Resort. Two places where regionality doesn’t need explaining—because you can taste it.
The eggs come from our own hens. The cheese comes from the milk of our cows. And the warmth comes straight from the Schiefer family.
Whether it’s breakfast in the Dorfalm, dinner after a long day in the mountains, or shopping in the Dorfladen: here you know where the products come from. And why they’re so good.
At Schiefergut, your holiday starts off deliberately relaxed. You book with breakfast — and plan everything else in a way that suits your day.
In the evening, a table is already reserved for you at Schiefergut. Whether you want to use it is up to you to decide each day by the morning. No fixed dining obligation, no mandatory time, no daily planning ahead for the whole week.
That’s exactly what makes it different from classic half board: no watching the clock. No menu already waiting. No day that revolves around dinner. At Schiefergut, every holiday day stays open. If your day in the mountains runs longer. If the kids still want to play. If you simply feel like something else on the spur of the moment, that freedom remains.
The Schiefergut tasting menu – 5 courses €49 per person.
The tasting menu can be used flexibly:
• booked in advance for the entire stay
• reserved for individual days before arrival
• or decided spontaneously on site
Or choose our local cuisine from the Dorfalm menu, with individual dishes from the à la carte selection — honest, regional, and inspired by Alpine cooking.
This creates a model that truly takes the pressure off: planning where it feels good — freedom where a holiday should stay easy.
When hunger strikes in between, our little guests can choose from the Simi kids’ menu — with dishes that are quick to arrive and really fill you up. Not just schnitzel and grilled sausages. But honest, balanced meals made the way kids like them.
No fixed times. No compromise. At Schiefergut, meals adapt to your holiday — not the other way around.
Not in the classic sense — and that’s intentional. You book with breakfast. In the evening
you plan things in a way that suits your day. A table is reserved for you. Whether you
use it is up to you to decide each day. No obligation, no fixed times.

The Dorfalm is where you arrive. Hotel guests, locals, families and food lovers all find their place here—each in their own way, yet connected by a shared attitude. We cook with what the region provides: products from our own farm, from neighbouring farms and from the Salzburg region. In the morning, the day starts with eggs from our own hens, fresh bread and time. Easy-going at lunchtime, quietly sociable in the evening. No trends, no staging—just honest flavour and an attitude you can feel.
The Dorfladen is a shop full of stories. Here you’ll find products from our own farm and from people in the region you know. Eggs, honey, cheese, jams—depending on the season and availability. Every product has an origin, a name and a reason why it’s here. For guests, the Dorfladen is a piece of holiday to take home. For locals, it’s a place for honest food. And for everyone, a quiet promise: regionality doesn’t have to be loud to be real.
