Kids’ Barn with Animals – Farm Experience at Schiefergut

Many different animals live in our Kids’ Barn. Children get up close and personal with typical farm animals—including alpacas, rabbits, chickens, sheep, ducks, goats, ponies, and more. In addition to the petting zoo, the children’s farm includes a hay-jumping barn, a corn room, and a supervised workshop. Here, children experience real farm life—not staged, but authentic.

The Kids’ Barn is suitable for children of all ages—even the very youngest. Toddlers can watch the animals and have their first encounters in the presence of their parents.

As part of our supervised childcare (from age 2), children are actively guided as they feed and care for the animals. Older children playfully take on small tasks around the farm.

Yes, feeding the animals is explicitly part of the experience. As part of the included childcare, children help look after the animals—they feed them, groom them, and experience firsthand how a farm works.
